A Visit to Grandma's House

Well, this isn't quite at our house yet...but I did catch this picture earlier today after Megan had fed Aidan. He just looked so content snuggled up I couldn't resist! With the guys out golfing, us ladies spent time together just loving on Aidan!

But here he is for real...his first outing to our house for dinner along with his parents, Uncle Ben and grandparents...the other side that is(Megan's parents). He looks like just a little man in his little navy hoody and pants!

Auntie Heather said he cried so she picked him up, but I didn't hear any noises! But that's ok, we don't need excuses to pick him up and hold him! And Heather didn't mind in the least holding him while she ate! Looks like they were having quite the conversation!

Aaachhoooo!! Caught him in the middle of a very big sneeze! Linda do you recognize this very cute sleeper? Thanks again! He looks soooo cute in it!

My New Favorite Picture

Okay, so this is my new favorite picture of the cutest grandchild in the whole, wide world! I know, I am terribly biased and I don't even apologize for that! How can I? It's undisputed! We were at Jamie and Megan's yesterday getting my 'baby fix' and Dave was holding Aidan so I decided to play with my camera and try taking a picture without a flash! Here it is...Isn't he just so precious?

It's a Boy!!

Do you get the idea that I am just a wee bit excited? Yup, it's true! Our grandson, Aidan James Beck made his appearance on Thursday, August 24 at 6:50 pm weighing in at 8 pounds 14 ounces and 20 inches long! Mom and Baby are doing fine and Megan is glad to finally be holding her little guy! Actually not so little at all....he has chubby cheeks, a full head of curly brown hair, and he has already captured all of our hearts! Everyone took turns holding him and I just couldn't pick which pictures to post, so decided to post most of them!(everyone told me I was taking too many pictures but after all, this is my first grandson!) For more pics, check out Megan's blog. Posted by Picasa

A Trip to see Phantom of the Opera!!!

I had the most amazing day on Saturday...Heather took me away! Starting with an early morning pick up at 9:00 am, a trip through a Starbuck's drive-thru, and then into Vancouver via the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal(I know, I know...not quite on the way) to pick up a friend that was joining us for the day(actually I was joining them for the day).

Heather and I had fun climbing up onto this sightseeing bus in Gastown in downtown Vancouver to have our picture taken. We were here to see the musical, Phantom of the Opera! But first, we had to have lunch, ice cream, and oh yes, walk around Gastown in Vancouver. Posted by Picasa

Yup...this is the bus we climbed up on to have our picture taken! The driver tried to convince us we should go sightseeing with him, but we told him we just had to go to the Opera instead...Phantom of the Opera that is, my birthday gift from Matt and Heather! Posted by Picasa

Heather and her good friend Niks had fun posing as tourists in front of the Gastown Steam Clock! People line up all up and down the street to have their pictures taken here! Posted by Picasa

The Queen Elizabeth Theatre is right in downtown Vancouver....this fountain provided a great photo op for theatre goers of all ages. Posted by Picasa

Mother and Daughter in front of the Theatre...it was such a beautiful sunny summer day! Doesn't get any better than this! Posted by Picasa

And here we are...inside the Queen Elizabeth Theatre where you aren't supposed to take any flash pictures of the production. But noone said anything about the program! What an awesome performance and a wonderful day! Thanks so much Heather for making it so special! What a great Birthday present and memories for a lifetime! Posted by Picasa

I know that many of you keep checking Megan's blog and there are no recent updates...they have been having computer issues for over a week and it is a race to see what happens first...the computer up and running again or Megan having the baby. In the meantime, here is a picture I took just yesterday for all of you that are waiting and wondering....yes, she is still great with child and waiting! Posted by Picasa

How's Megan Doing?

If I had a dollar for everytime someone has asked me that question I would be debt-free!! Isn't she just the most beautiful pregnant woman ever? Downright cute I would say!!(couldn't have called me cute when I was pregnant...more like a house some would have said!A friend reminded us just last month how I actually waddled out of church in the few weeks before Jody was born!!)

Seriously, Megan and the baby are doing just fine! Watch her blog for all the latest developments if you haven't found it yet(Just click on her name) There is even a baby poll you can enter for a prize! Check it out!

In the meantime, please keep praying for Megan and the baby as they wait for his 'birth-day' to arrive...that word has new meaning for us these days! Happy Saturday to all of you! Posted by Picasa

What is this you ask? Well we spent last week in Whistler at our annual Canadian Staff Conference....it had been cloudy on the drive up, but it was a glorious day as we left on Friday morning. So I just had to give you a glimpse of what we saw all week!( and also explain why I was offline all week....the internet service was terrible so I finally just gave up and declared it another offline week.....such is life!) Posted by Picasa

This was the view from our hotel window! The mountains greeted us every morning as we opened the drapes! After an absence of many years, we were back in Whistler for Staff Conference. Posted by Picasa

For those of you that have never visited Whistler, it really is worth the drive up from Vancouver. It is an amazing blend of cultures and you can hear languages from around the world as you walk thru the village on the cobblestone paths. Posted by Picasa

This 'Bear' greeted us every morning but one morning as we walked from our hotel, we saw a real bear! A black bear was meandering down the path across the road from us, as if he knew exactly where the next dumpster could be found! Too bad I didn't have my camera handy! Posted by Picasa

Our sessions were all held in the Conference Centre right in the heart of the village of Whistler.  Posted by Picasa

The mountains were spectacular as we drove back down the famous Sea to Sky Highway(ranked one of the most beautiful drives in the world) to Vancouver and then home! It had been an awesome week of refreshing and renewing our focus on God who has called us to this amazing ministry! Posted by Picasa
