Birthday Sunday...Our little man is one month old!

I had Dave take this picture in honor of our little man being one month old! ! He clicked it just as he put his hand in the air so it looks like he is waving at all of you in Blogland! It's hard to believe that he has been part of our family for that long already and our Sunday dinners are definitely different! Not complaining though...it is so much fun having a baby in the house.

I posted this next picture for you Danielle....in honor of it being Sunday, he had on his Sunday bib and burp cloth.....being put to use already! Thanks! As you can tell he has gotten used to the bottle very easily and enjoys feeding times...and now I can even feed him. What fun!

Since it was absolutely beautiful we headed out to Cultus Lake to enjoy the "Indian Summer Day"...funny thing, you never hear that expression anymore...I guess it isn't politically correct! But it is fall and it felt like summer and we enjoyed some relaxing time with Heather and Matt so I just had to post this picture.

And one last picture of our cute grandson! Just can't get enough of him...thank you Jamie and Megs for sharing him with us!

Lac des Roches

Our God is an awesome God....this was our view for five days from Thursday to Monday... Posted by Picasa

The Last Resort on beautiful Lac des Roches...yup, that's my little red car! Read on for the rest of the story Posted by Picasa

Have you been wondering where I am? why I haven't been answering phone calls or emails? Well here is the reason...Jody arrived from Texas late last Wednesday night and Thursday morning found us packing up the car and heading northeast into the beautiful Cariboo region of our province. We had planned this in December and now here we were! Matt, Heather, Megan and Aidan were next to arrive....but first, Jody tried out the kitchen. Posted by Picasa

View from the loft....yup! We felt like we were in a little bit of heaven! Dave has dreamed and talked about being in a cabin on a lake for a vacation since we were first married over 31 years ago! And here we were....we were in awe of God's faithfulness in providing this special place for us to have our first annual(we hope) Beck family reunion. Posted by Picasa

Jody prepares our first meal! Kraft Dinner! What else....and there is nothing like Canadian KD they tell us! It's different than the American variety! Dave, Jody and I were the first to arrive and she was starved! Posted by Picasa

What a reunion when the next carload arrived, Matt & Heather along with Megan and Aidan since Jamie had to teach and couldn't come up until after school on Friday. Jody hadn't seen the rest of the family since Christmas!!! It was so awesome to be together again in this beautiful cabin.... Posted by Picasa

Jody enjoyed getting to know her new nephew....there was never a shortage of willing volunteers to hold Aidan! Good thing he loves to cuddle! Mornings were the perfect time to sit around, drinking hot beverages of choice(coffee, tea and hot chocolate! depending on who was holding the mug!) Posted by Picasa

Matt and Dave enjoy the view, the fresh air, the quiet, and eventually the sunset! What a blessing that Matt was able to take the time off and come up as well....although he did have to leave before Jamie made it up after school on Friday! So sad... Posted by Picasa

A picture of me just to prove that I really was there(since I am usually the face behind the camera, and not in front of it!) With my foot up, I enjoyed hours of sitting and reading....that's the life! Posted by Picasa

For us it was fun to see Aidan in the ordinary things of life...like getting a bath! And yes, he did sleep right through it! So much for using it to wake him up! He had other plans! Ahh, the life of leisure! Posted by Picasa

There was lots of family time but also time for solitude....Heather catches up on her reading while catching some rays! Posted by Picasa

Aidan was definitely the center of attention! But how could he not be? He is so cute afterall! Posted by Picasa

And Aidan makes three! Their first family picture since the hospital! ;-) Looking good everyone! Posted by Picasa

Sisters! These two 'look-alikes' were ready to head down to the dock to catch some sun! We all marvelled at how much alike Heather and Jody look these days...they never used to! What happened? Posted by Picasa

Aidan enjoyed the fresh air too!  Posted by Picasa

Since Matt had to leave Friday afternoon to get back for work on Saturday, Heather and Jody decided to take their turn on the paddleboat! It was a great workout they tell us! Posted by Picasa

What family time would be without games? None if you know our family at all! We took turns holding Aidan and Dave was the pro at getting him to sleep! Here he takes his turn playing Settlers of Catan, one of our favorite games. Posted by Picasa

After everyone else had left on Sunday, Jody took the Kayak out and enjoyed the solitude on the lake...what a picture!(I was jealous because my sprained ankle meant I couldn't make the trek down the hillside to the dock!) Posted by Picasa

Watching the sunset every evening was a highlight as we tried to capture God 'painting the sky'....how many pictures can you take of one sunset? We won't tell will we Jody! This was our last sunset and by far the most spectacular. Posted by Picasa

Beautiful Feet!

Our speaker in church yesterday spoke about Beautiful Feet(Isaiah 52:7 ...how beautiful are the feet of those that bring good news) which made me think about feet in general. And then today I ended up thinking a lot more about feet than I had planned, but more about that later...first of all, just had to share this pair of very beautiful feet! Guess whose?

Yup! You Guessed! Those are Aidan's feet...aren't they cute? Apparently they are big for a newborn's feet, but all I know is that they are just too cute! And he doesn't like them covered up. I wonder if he got that from his Grandpa Beck, Dave's father who always had barefeet! In fact when I first met him in April 1975 he had barefeet! and we always said that was something we had in common because I too prefer the no shoes and socks! :-) So Aidan comes by it naturally I guess!

Yup, this is the reason I was thinking about feet today!!! This is my not so beautiful one at the moment! Dave and I were walking this morning when I tripped over a tree root which snapped along with my ankle! Managed to sprain it real good and chip a bone along the way as well! Spent time in emergency and had it X-rayed so as I said, spent more time thinking about feet today than I had first planned!

So here it is...all fat and starting to turn colors! Spent the day with my foot up and tensor bandage, air cast and ice close by. Here's hoping it heals real fast!! Posted by Picasa
