A White Christmas

The house is very quiet today, and I am watching the snow fall again! As often as Darin sang, "I'm dreaming of a White Christmas" the snow stayed away until after we got home from driving them to the Seattle Airport on Christmas Day in the morning(Dave had prayed it would).....but I had to take these pictures to show him that it really did snow on Christmas Day...and again a bit last night...and again today!
I always think is it so weird to see the Roses still in bloom as the snow falls....below is the picture from upstairs Jods and Jamie and Megs if you are checking the blogs from Michigan.
We had an awesome Christmas and wonderful visit with Darin, Jody and Caily here.We were so thankful to have our family all in one place...as you can see, we captured some of the moments on the camera....

Christmas Eve after they had opened their presents, both grandbabies were in their fleece sleepers(matching compliments of Jody) so we took this picture of Grandpa! What awesome memories.
Yes, it's quiet here today....but there is laughter in the walls! And we will cherish the memories!

Cousins

It's late and definitely past my bedtime, but for all of you blog-stalkers that have been wondering how things are going at our house, I just had to share my new favorite picture that was taken earlier today. Aidan spent most of the day here, an opportunity to get to know his Great Grandparents a bit better(my parents arrived yesterday for the holidays). At one point I was holding Caily and he wanted to climb onto my lap too...so up he came holding his book.

What happened next caught us all by surprise....he put his arm around Caily and just gently rubbed the back of her head! It was so cute, and loving and definitely a Kodak moment....Jody captured it on my camera so I could share it with all of you! Being a Grandma really is the best thing ever(so if you don't get an email response from me...just blame it on the grandkids! I am having way too much fun!)

Let it snow!

It's just 9 more sleeps before Jody and Caily arrive for Christmas and I just had to steal this picture off Jody's blog because it is too cute! Caily is ready for snow(thanks to her Auntie Heather) which is a good thing since we have already had two snowfalls!
From the years when Jody thought we hadn't had winter because it hadn't snowed, these past years we seem to get our first taste of the white stuff around the end of November! Last Tuesday morning we woke up to snow(see picture of our house below) but that was only the appetizer.....this weekend we got a real snow day! It was so awesome, sitting inside and watching it snow and snow and snow with all the Christmas lights in the entire house on!

The kids braved the roads and came for Brunch...waffles and whipped cream! (Their car and Matt and Heather's truck do well in the snow as opposed to our one car that doesn't....unfortunately the car with the snow tires is the one we sold earlier in the fall...ooops!)
Jamie and Megan wanted a family picture in the snow...so fun! They all left right after we ate since the snow wasn't letting up.....this is what we watched!
Today it's raining again so the snow won't last on the ground for long...but who knows when it will snow again....hopefully not until after we have picked Jody and Caily from Seattle next week....here is our h0use last Tuesday...it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
