One Room Done.....
I have been getting grief for not posting any updates on our Renovation so I decided to post just a few pictures to give an idea of what we have been up to. The Laundry room is the first room that is finished, complete with new lino, casings and baseboards and new outlet and switch covers(thank you to our good friend Tom who worked while on their visit this past weekend and helped to get those done.) I love the new clean look and the floor that looks like tile....
This is looking the other direction....sorry about the difference in the browns....can't quite get the right color! Grrr.....and yes, I managed to get water drops on my camera lens again. Not sure when that happened either.
Heather and I painted all day Saturday and part of Sunday and we are so excited about the colors.....Here is a look at the feature wall in the Family room(Georgian Brick) and the main color(Wild Mushroom) ......the carpet will be the next to go!
Yup...this is what the outside of our house looks like at the moment.....quite the change! The upstairs deck has new vinyl, and the rest of the new windows in the front of the house are going in as I type, so next up the new siding will go on.

Two of the three living room windows were replaced yesterday! Clear windows....what a blessing! and no more leaky windows.....Yeah!

Happy Birthday Opa!
This past weekend we celebrated my father's birthday all weekend long! It was a blessing to have Mom and Dad here last week while I was babysitting Aidan for Megan(otherwise I couldn't have gotten my work done) Several times I was reminded how awesome it was for Aidan to get to spend time with his Opa and Oma and make memories with them.
Opa is Aidan's hero....he just loves spending time with him, especially if Opa is working on something with tools.
Aidan loves walks so Opa and Oma took him on several. He enjoyed them so much that on Saturday he crawled into the stroller when we were all working outside and wanted to go....
Oma was a great help too.....getting Aidan up from his naps and feeding him grapes!
Saturday we went into Vancouver and went to Queen Elizabeth Park. It had been many, many years since we had been there but we knew Oma and Opa would enjoy all the spring flowers since it is supposed to be snowing in Calgary again today.
I loved this picture of Dad watching the fountain........a typical Opa pose!

Goodbye '80's!
When we moved into our house 20 years ago this fall, there were certain things that we knew we would have to change....the lino in the house was one of those!
Well, it's only taken almost 20 years, but we are finally saying goodbye to the '80's at our house....Goodbye Brick on the wall, Goodbye ugly lino and marble, Goodbye wallpaper ......What a Mess!
We have only just begun.....the laundry room furniture sits in living room at the moment! We are definitely in process so if I don't blog a lot over the next weeks you will know why! I will be painting my little heart out.....stay tuned for updates!
