Quesnel Memories

This past weekend we had the most amazing weekend! The entire family got together in Quesnel at Matt and Heather's and what a weekend we had....A friend blessed us by allowing us to use her SUV for the weekend. By the time we loaded up all of our things, plus Darin, Jody and Caily's....well, you can see that we had quite the load!
It was soooo much fun to see Heather and Matt in their own home...Heather did an awesome job of painting and decorating. She appreciated the touch of the Fraser Valley that we brought with us .....
Caily was so excited about the Teddy Bears Heather brought out for her to play with...
This picture typifies the weekend....Aidan and Caily loved playing outside with anything they could find...balls, Tik's sticks, Tika, just running in their amazing back yard.
We treasured this special time together as families.....

Heather and Matt were awesome hosts...they sure do have the gift of hospitality.
Caily loved on Tika any chance she got...
Heather decided to help Caily's hair out with some gel.....this picture sure does show off her 'tude'....
A special memory was celebrating Aidan's 2nd Birthday together...he was in awe of all the candles...
So much fun...
Bocce ball was the perfect game to play in their amazing backyard....even Aidan got right into it. Measuring whose ball was closest took precision....
One last game was played before we headed for home....
This picture was taken as we were packing up to leave. Darin took advantage of the opportunity to feed Jaxon and hold his nephew one last time. The next time he sees him he will probably be running......

The Beach

Aidan loves the beach so we decided one of our outings while Jody and Caily were here was to head to White Rock and the beach! Of course first we had to stop for Fish & Chips...we had come straight from church so everyone was hungry

Caily hams it up for the camera!
Aidan gets ready for the sunshine outside.
We had made sure that the tide was low so there was a lot of beach! Megan watches her men head out!
Grandpa was the chosen one....off he and Caily go and you can see Jamie and Aidan off in the distance on the right side of this picture.
Grandpa shows Caily and Aidan where a crab is squirting up water.
Aidan was afraid of the approaching train so he and Jamie just sat and watched it coming.
Aidan found this awesome rock...so Jamie would throw it up and make a giant splash. Aidan loved it!
Aidan shows Caily how to get dirty....

and he gets dirty indeed! She is still learning....but a good start!
Dave giving Megs a break from holding Jaxon.
Jamie and Megs headed home so Aidan could get his nap, but Caily wasn't quite finished playing in the water....
She loved it...

Mommy's turn....

All done and ready for the ride home....another awesome day of making memories!

Cousins....what a blessing!

One of the fun things about Jody and Caily's visit is that the cousins get to know one another. We are having so much fun watching them interact! Grandpa has his arms full!
I love this image...Jody meeting Jaxon!

Jaxon is quite taken with his Auntie!

Caily enjoys spending time with her Auntie Megan too!

With Caily needing the high chair, Aidan gets to try out Grandma's booster chair(over30 years old!) He was very impressed with himself!

Saturday morning the weather cooperated beautifully for our planned trip to the zoo....so much fun to be had!

Not sure Caily was even breathing here....

She was looking at this giraffe....even bigger than the animals on the ranch.
Caily wanted Mommy beside her...

Aidan wasn't sure about the safety of his feet, and pulled them way up into the stroller...is that fence safe?

Dave and I found it surreal...we were at the zoo with our kids and their children! Where did the years go? The last time we were here, our kids were little.

Jaxon gets a free ride.....

Aidan loves the animals...

Sorry that these next pictures are out of order, but sometimes I just can't think in reverse to get them right. Saturday evening we were together at Jamie and Megan's for some more cousin time. Aidan was climbing up to get a book off his bookshelf and Caily thought nothing of joining him on the train table!

Aidan loves jumping on their trampoline and Jody and Caily joined him...they had so much fun together and we were amazed at how careful Aidan was with Caily.

Jumping can be tiring business....

I managed to catch Aidan mid-jump on this one.

Caily was quite taken with all the jumping...
Of course I have hundreds more pictures, but these at least tell part of the story...so much fun to be had and memories to be made!

Caily visits Grandma and Grandpa

Last Wednesday Dave and I headed down to Seattle to pick up our two favorite Texas girls for a visit! Even after flying all day, Caily was all smiles! She remembered us(those weird people she sees on the computer every Wednesday when we skype!) Caily has something in common with her Opa and her Auntie Heather...she too loves shoes!

After a stop for dinner, it was finally time for sleep.....and another three hours of driving!
Dave took these two weeks off while they are visiting and Caily is definitely Grampa's girl! They are having so much fun together.

I took a longer lunch break so I could go along with the gang for a walk around Mill Lake Park....Caily was all set!

I never cease to be in awe at the beauty that surrounds us! Here Mt Baker in the distance seems to just loom over Mill Lake

Tired of the stroller, it was time to walk and it almost seemed to us that she was trying to walk right on the yellow line. This is her gazing pose....stopping to look at the ducks and geese!
Back at home, Caily discovered Grandma's amazing toy box! Full of 30 year old toys that haven't lost their play value! Thank you Fisher Price. :-)

Enjoying a book with Mommy....

Celebrating Family Part 3

After our Staff Conference was over in Whistler(yes, we were behind the rock slide and had to take the long road home), my parents came back for the weekend for some more family time....first, more time with the boys...Hugging Jaxon...
....getting to know their youngest great-grandson ...enjoying having fun with Aidan I love this picture of Oma with her grandson and great-grandson. I am not sure who was having more fun! The next morning we headed south to Whidbey Island, Deception Pass and points beyond.
We had forgotten just how beautiful this area was. We enjoyed touring this lighthouse while waiting for the ferry.

Enjoying prime seats on the ferry ......

The sound was filled with sailboats. It was a beautiful day for a ferry ride and warm enough to stay out on the deck the whole trip across.

Coming up to historic Port Townsend...someday I would love to go back and spend some more time in this quaint town.
While on the peninsula, we had an awesome visit with my aunt(Dad's sister) and uncle(who just had a heart attack and quadruple bypass surgery). It was so good to see them again and see that my uncle was recupertaing well.
Sunday morning we said our goodbyes and headed south to visit with my cousin, Ingrid, who is in Rehab following a car accident that left her a paraplegic. I know that many of you who visit our blog regularly pray for us so would you join us in praying for Ingrid and her family, (My uncle and aunt, husband and two little boys), that God would touch her body with healing and give His grace for every single day? Thanks for remembering her.

Celebrating Family Part 2

The same weekend that Heather and Matt were down for a visit, my parents also arrived. They were very excited to meet their newest grandson.

Oma enjoyed just holding Jaxon and staring at him! There's nothing quite like holding a sleeping baby.

When Jaxon finally woke up, I managed to get a good picture of the three of them.

Opa was very surprised to realize that Aidan understood what paper money looked like and what to do with it!(fold it up and stick it in your pant pocket!!)

Celebrating Family

There are times when life just seems to be rushing by when suddenly I realize that I have literally hundreds of pictures on my memory card that haven't been downloaded!! Today I decided that I really, really had to take time to actually get those pictures onto the computer and then maybe, just maybe, in the next few days I can take time to post and give you a glimpse at life at the Becks these past weeks.

At the end of July,Heather and Matt were down and we began a new tradition of spending time together as a family when the girls come home. So that Sunday after church we headed to one of our favorite places.....White Rock!

A visit wouldn't be complete without Fish and Chips at the famous Moby Dick's!

Aidan loved sucking on the lemons after his meal!

Then it was time to go to the Beach......a ride on Unkie Matt's shoulders was exciting!Aidan really misses Matt and Heather and regularly tells us that Unkie, Auntie and Kitty are all gone!

Although the kids give me grief about posed pictures, I wanted to have a picture to remember the day by.....

Aidan just wanted to go down to the beach....fortunately there was a little patch of sand that was still visible(as the tide was coming in fast!)

Father and son had fun and we enjoyed watching them!
