It's Official! Mimi and Gigi it is!

Well the verdict is in and Aidan has decided that Grandma is far too hard to say, and Mimi is just right! So Mimi it is....my new name. And since Great Grandma is even harder to say then Grandma, we decided that perhaps Gigi(for GG) was easier for him too and he definitely liked that as well. Dave's Mom arrived on Thursday and there is no doubt in Aidan's mind that Gigi is her name. So there you have it.....our new names!

Since she is only here for a week we have spent a lot of time together. Here are just a few of the pictures that I have taken.....

Mr. Happy.....Jaxon has figured out how to laugh and Megan really got him going on Saturday evening.
Aidan enjoyed having his Grandpa reading to him 'down here'....aka on the floor!
Gigi and Jaxon hanging out together watching the World Series game.
Gigi and her boys.......
Today Aidan spent the day here with Mimi and Gigi and boy did he have fun! Here are a few pictures of the day.....
Concentrating really hard....
Cuddling with Gigi....look at those smiles!
Playing a fun game together....Aidan kept asking 'More Gigi please'.
So much fun....

There is nothing quite so precious as a little boy and his Great Grandma having fun together!

His Eye is on the Sparrow

There are days and sometimes even weeks when I am overwhelmed with life and all the 'To Do's' that each day holds. It is at times like those that I need to be reminded that God's eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me as well. His grace is truly sufficient. My family teases me because I take pictures of leaves and berries, but it is because they remind me of my awesome creator that I like to be mindful of the details of each one.

Thanksgiving Memories part 2

Matt got home from his moose hunt Wednesday night, Dave drove up Thursday after work, and Jamie and Megan and the boys headed up after school on Friday. It was awesome to be together again even tho we missed the Texans. Aidan was so excited to see his 'Unkie Matt' again.

We shared lots of laughter. Aidan had to sit just like his Auntie Heather on the hearth.
Even tho it was really cold(0 Celsius which is 32 Fahrenheit) we headed out to take some family pictures for Jamie and Megs. Along the way we captured all sorts of fun moments.
Jamie and the boys pose......
Family pictures Beck style....
The 'Tree-Huggers' had so much fun together in the leaves....
Jamie yelled 'photo-op' when Aidan wanted to hold Jaxon....it doesn't happen often so I was excited to be able to capture the moment.
Reading together on Mimi's lap....Aidan has never been able to say grandma so Megs decided to see if he would say Mimi instead! And he did.....not sure if I will end up being Mimi or Grandma so we will see what he decides to call me on his own.
Heading to the park for some fresh air and exercise on Sunday. Aidan had to hang on to Tika's leash.
Swinging together....
Coming down the slide with Mommy was so much fun!
Tiks decided to try to get up to where Heather was......up the ladder she went!
Jaxon's turn to try the slide with Auntie Heather....
He was all wrapped up against the cold....
But he did get tuckered out and fell asleep in Dave's arms on the walk home.
Thanks for the memories everyone! I always knew that some day Matt and Heather would move out of the Fraser Valley so it does my heart good that we can still enjoy family times together!

Thanksgiving Memories Part 1

Sometimes you just have to live beyond the mundane, the planned and ordered. Last week I did that when Heather asked me to go back to Quesnel early with her(on Tuesday morning) instead of after work on Thursday when Dave and I were planning to go. We had an awesome time driving up the Fraser Canyon in her new 4Runner....working together each on our computer, doing a puzzle together and walking along the river and enjoying the fall foilage. It was a beautiful day so I just had to share a few of the pictures with you.

Fall is several weeks ahead of where we are down here at the coast so the hillside was beautiful.

Tiks was so excited about coming along on our walk. She even posed for the camera.

We sat here along the riverbank for a while while Heather threw stones into the river for Tiks.....so much fun!

The path was so beautiful.....and I was thankful for the sunshine and for the time to spend with just my daughter and I.

A Walk in the Park

It's raining today so it's grey and feels damp inside and out! But we had beautiful fall days for most of September and the leaves are just starting to change colors. On Wednesday I took my camera along while we walked in the park.....sharing the excitment that both of us have our daughters visiting this weekend. This picture was my favorite......an incredible shot that captured the beauty all around us that I just had to share with all of you.
