The week in pictures with Bria Elise

It's been another busy week here in Texas so I decided to take some time this morning to show you a few of the highlights. Of course the highlight was that Baby Bria Elise Miles came home in the wee hours of Monday morning so when we all woke up she was here!
We are all in love with her, but especially the girls who can't hold her enough.
It's been really hot here so we are thankful for good friends of the Miles' family who live close by and have a pool.

It's also where Jody and Darin had their last two horses boarded. This one, Guy, was sold Tuesday evening so everyone got one last ride.
Caily is a natural and loves riding...but Lexi wasn't so sure. She wanted to ride but was unsure once on the horse with Caily.
Another day while Jody waited at home for their Internet to get hooked up, the friend picked us up and we went to her house for a swim. But first some delicious popscicles.....perfect hot summer day!

The same friend is also a photographer and wanted to take some newborn pictures of Bria so I took a few on my phone as well. Bria cooperated nicely!
I love this picture of Bria in her father's hand...gives a great perspective of size.
Little feet....
Then yesterday afternoon Dave arrived....it is so fun to watch him with his girls!
Bria thinks his shoulder is the perfect place for cuddling and sleeping! What joy there is to hold a newborn baby!

She's Here!!

She's here!!! Born last night, Friday, July 22 at 11:41 pm, just 12(or 14 depending on who you ask) minutes after they arrived at the hospital baby girl  weighed in at 9 pounds 1 ounce and is 21 inches long!!! Seriously!!
This afternoon we all went up to the hospital to meet the newest member of the family.
Needless to say the girls were so in love!!!
Jody is tired...still can't figure out where this big baby came from!
Meeting my newest granddaughter I just can't believe how blessed I am to be here today of all days...and see her in the hospital! A first with our Texas sweethearts!
Having fun giving kisses with Daddy.
Our Texas Sweethearts....all three of them!
It's the end of a long day for them and for this grandma......time for bed but I just had to share!

While we wait...

Well we are still waiting for baby, but while we wait, the time isn't wasted! We moved into their new house and have slept here the last two nights...not an easy feat when you have to find things like sheets and pillows that have been in storage for a couple of months.
And we have gotten lots of painting done! Everyone right down to the smallest little girl gets into the act!
As you can see they take their work very seriously!
Of course this means that mommy doesn't get any painting done....good thing Mimi is here to help!
The girls are so excited about their new room!
The laundry room is also finished(Asparagus Green for you Heather!). For all of you that take a laundry room for granted, this is Jody's first inside her house and she is so excited about that! Makes doing laundry soooooo much easier.
Next we tackled Jody and Darin's bedroom...the paint in this room is really pretty but totally changes color depending on the time of day. It's got a beach feel to it which is very relaxing.
Yesterday I tackled the feature wall in the very large play room over the garage. It took forever to get the cutting done on this wall, and then at night Darin rolled it....but I was too tired to take a picture...you will have to wait for the final look for another day.
In between we are unpacking lots of boxes, buying groceries and this morning even doing laundry....and of course still waiting. Baby is doing well according to Jody's appointment this morning so here we are....while we wait.

Waiting in Texas

Well Jody's due date was on Saturday but we are still waiting! I arrived late Saturday evening as well,  so we are all set for this little gal to arrive any day now.
The good news is that they were able to take possession of their new house on Friday already so we are busy painting and unpacking there as well.
In the meantime we are able to stay at the home of friends who are away and enjoy their swimming pool . What a nice change from the cool, rainy spring and summer we have been having at home.
It's a great place to come back after painting and working on the other house....
In the meantime I am loving just hanging out with my grandgirlies....won't be too much longer before we have some news I'm sure!

A Summer Sunday

Kai and his Opa...my Dad! It was so awesome to have my parents visit at the same time as Heather and Matt were down so Kai could get to know them better and vice versa. As you can tell, a good time was had by all.
Sunday had dawned a beautiful summer day(finally) so while dinner cooked in the oven, we all headed outside.

Aidan immediately enlisted Unkie Matt to draw with sidewalk chalk(Matt's a pretty incredible artist compared to me! No wonder he chose him for his partner!)
Jaxon wasn't so interested in that.
Kai remembered  the bubbles from their last trip so he headed right into the garage and asked me to get them out for him. He was soooooo impressed and just loved trying to catch them.
So much fun!! Pure joy.
Next Matt tried to help Aidan and Jaxon get over their fear of dogs by spending some time with Tikka.Jaxon wasn't at all convinced but eventually Aidan got brave enough to hold her leash and give her commands to sit and walk.
After a delicious lunch of barbecued ribs complete with Strawberry Pie for dessert we decided a walk to the park would be the order of the day once the boys woke up from their naps. We are so blessed to have such a beautiful park right at the bottom of our street.
It was so cute to watch Kai decide that he wanted to hold Jaxon's hand.
Kai loves his cousins and really looks up to them so he was so impressed to be walking hand in hand with Jaxon. Can't you tell by the look in his eyes?
As we walked I couldn't help but think how blessed we were to be walking in the park with four generations together!!!
Kai wanted to be just like the big kids and yes, with Matt's help he really did climb all the way up that ladder!
Jaxon's turn was next. He knew how it was done because he had watched Aidan enough(who isn't on these pictures because he and Megan were at a Birthday Party for a friend)
On the way home the boys were too tired to walk....I love this pictures of fathers and their boys.....made me smile! But then a lot of things that Sunday made me smile.....we are so blessed!
