We are on a journey, sojourners on this earth. Let us share with you the highs and lows of our lives. Heaven is a sweeter place now that we have two beautiful granddaughters waiting there for us.

More Memories That Make Me Smile

Just a few more pictures from our northern Christmas that make me smile everytime I look at them! Kai can look so serious for someone who smiles so easily.
Looking just like his Daddy...hat on, police shirt on, remote in hand....
There wasn't a lot of snow outside as you can see....
Kai is like his parents and absolutely loves to go outside.
Back inside we had some fun playing in his tent....he absolutely loves it!
So much fun...just hanging out together is sheer joy!

Beck Bed and Breakfast

Saturday morning and once again I found myself stripping the beds in all three guest rooms
(yes we have three....three children's rooms converted into rooms for guests)
I felt like I had just done this
I realized that I had
Last Saturday
and the Saturday before
stripping three sets of bedding
(although this week it was the single bed in the third room and not the crib)
washing three sets of towels
cleaning not three but four bathrooms because of course we have ours as well
an ensuite for those of you that don't live in Canada
(do my Canadian friends realize that is a 'canadian' word for the bathroom off the master bedroom)
cleaning up after this week's overnight guests,
one in each room.

An acquaintance once asked if I ran a Bed and Breakfast and I said 'no'.
but then I realized that I do....
I run the Beck Bed and Breakfast
I just don't get paid for each guest in dollars and cents
but I get paid in memories
and blessings
and friendship
which afterall is a gift far more precious than dollars and cents.

So come again guests...
to the Beck Bed and Breakfast,
come family and friends.
The beds are ready,
the bathrooms are clean.
Who will be next?

Our Northern Christmas

We drove up north on Christmas Day and arrived in time to open gifts together and enjoy our Christmas Dinner. Kai wasn't at all sure about tearing the paper on the gifts....afterall he has been taught NOT to tear things!
But playing with Daddy's Gift Card from Wholesale Sports now that was fun!
Finding himself in the Family Calendar(A Year With the Grands) that all the kids had contributed too was also a fun activity.
But the most fun of all was playing with Daddy with the box that his gift from the Miles family came in! Isn't that just the way?

At the end of the day the box and my earrings that they had given me were definitely a hit. In fact he carried the box around, filled it up, emptied it out, and generally played with it every day that we were there!! You just never know what will make the biggest splash!

Almost Altogether....

I took time off over Christmas to stay offline and just rest and relax, and since we got back from our northern Christmas the house has been full! But I just wanted to share a few of my favorite pictures from last weeks final Christmas celebration....Heather and Matt came down and my parents came back out before heading for home and we were almost altogether, just missing our Texans.
Oma and Opa were so excited about getting to know Kai better since it had been a whole year since they had seen him last and he has grown up in that time.
The three cousins had so much fun together and we actually managed to get this one picture of the three of them together(we tried earlier with Opa but that didn't work at all as you can see!)
We tried to bribe Kai with a yogurt melt but that didn't work either!
Who else but Opa would make a tower out of Jaxon's monster trucks?!!! He was sooooo impressed!!!

There are lots more pictures to share but they will wait for another day...for now, just a little glimpse....
