Today was 'the day'! The reason I flew up and left Dave to follow by car next week. It was Race Day and we had a 1 1/2 hour drive ahead of us. Kai has watched his parents preparing and training so he knows that he has to stretch before he can race. So stretch he did, even though it was only 6:30 and we had over 2 hours before the races were starting.
I got the place of honor between the two in the back seat, so to remember the day, we had to take some selfies!
Once we arrived, it was time to find the location and get their bibs with their race numbers.
Kai was so excited to be running his very first race, a 1 km 'Fun Run for kids.
Heather would be running the 10 Km race and Matt would be running the Half Marathon.
The kids and I ran the Fun Run...and were finished by the time the adults got started.
And they are off.....
.....we had the perfect spot to drink our hot chocolate and watch the finish line.
Kai and Halle were so excited to see Mommy coming in...
.....especially because she beat Daddy!!
Of course his race was significantly longer!
Both ran a personal best and were pleased with their times.....
.....all the training had paid off!!

Thank you so much for making it possible. What a great day :)
What a great accomplishment!
What a fun family time! Love the back seat pics...great smiles and I love your dimples! I have dimples, too...and so do all my kids! But only my daughters children have them and just on one side. Go figure!! Congrats for the great finishes!!
What a great time! I see the kids have good examples to follow and inspire them. I know that if Nana could... she would have run as well. Walking will have to do.
