As I left the Vancouver Airport I marveled again at how beautiful this city is...
with the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other.
So when I flew home on Saturday and saw the mountains I just had to take a few more pictures so I could share them....
...they looked so rugged and rise right out of the sea!
I soon realized that I was looking north along Howe Sound in the direction of Squamish and Whistler.
We often drive the Sea to Sky highway but now I was seeing it from the air instead.
Before I knew it we were overlooking all the container ships in the harbour
waiting their turn in port to unload and load again before heading out to Sea.
I'm sure everyone on the plane thought I was tourist, clicking away...
but I was just so excited to recognize Canada Place and the Cruise Ship Dock and then BC Place.
Vancouver really is an incredibly beautiful city...
and as we turned to come into the airport it was like I saw it fresh new eyes....
...recognizing the various bridges that we drive under to get to the airport....
and then finally getting a glimpse of the ocean looking west toward Vancouver Island in the distance.
We are truly blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the world and it really was good to see it with new eyes from the air!

I love coming into Vancouver on in daylight (and not coming from the west over the ocean) getting the layout of the land . . . the mountains and the city. Another way of being on top of the world!
Absolutely stunning photos; thank you for sharing them! It has been years since I've been to Vancouver and it looks even more beautiful than I remember it. I must plan a trip back!! :)
What a joy to have the opportunity to see this through your lens. We are often so engrossed in our everyday that we lose sight of it's beauty. A lovely reminder to step back and give thanks.
