BECK BULLETIN

We are on a journey, sojourners on this earth. Let us share with you the highs and lows of our lives. Heaven is a sweeter place now that we have two beautiful granddaughters waiting there for us.

My Hero

He was excited to invite us to come and see their class's wax museum at school.
Each student picked someone that was a hero
and researched more about that person.
 He chose his Great-Grandfather....
 When students pushed the button,
he came alive....
"My name is Forrest Beck and I am 24 years old.
I have three sisters,
Ione, Eileen and Betty-Lou,
and I was a nose gunner in the war.
I was shot down over Romania
and sent to a prisoner-of-war camp in Bulgaria.....
He acted the part....I had to check if he was real.
And just for fun,
we took a picture of him with his 'son'....
a look into the past from the future! :-)

As we walked away I reflected on how we never know who we will impact.
Jaxon never met the amazing man he represented today,
someone that was indeed a hero to many,
well-loved and still missed.
The real Forrest Beck with his family...
Dave looks a bit younger than Jaxon on this picture but close to the same age...
Is there a resemblance perhaps?
'Bud' as he was known...
High School Graduation Picture,
memories of a by-gone era.

The Psalmist writes, “We will not hide them from our children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that He has done” (Psalm 78:4).

Are you living your life today
so that in four generations
your great-grandson will choose you as his hero?

Are you living your life
in such a way that you are leaving a spiritual legacy
that will be passed on from one generation to the next?

These are the questions that I am wrestling with today,
all because of a trip to an Elementary School's 'Wax Museum' this morning.

This is great! So neat for a great-grandson to learn about his great-grandfather.
