A Little Man

One of the things that I had really wanted to do last fall was help Megan out by taking Aidan a day a week so that she could get her work done and we would have some Grandma time with my little man before his sibling arrives on the scene in May......it hasn't quite worked out, between my work schedule, travelling, surgery and everything else that happened. But I still wanted to see if we could make it work....so today Aidan spent the day at our house. First, he needs to always check the neighborhood ...... from the window!
This was his first visit since I had taken my Christmas Villages down, so he had to check out to see where they cords had disappeared too....hmm, there used to be a village here....but now, there is just the piano...(the ball is always in hand just in case Sheba wants to play)
Next, he asks for the giant deck of cards that is his to play with....I love the way he crouches down on his feet to take the cards out...
I was working on my computer at the kitchen counter, so I had a bird's eye view of him playing at my feet. He loves the old Fisher Price Cash Register that our kids played with...but today he decided laying down was a better way to play with it!
He loves climbing up on things...and our old brown chair is just right! Once he got up I gave him a couple of books to read and read he did!! It was so much fun to listen to him reading to himself and see him sitting just like I do in that chair when I read(look at his feet)!
Back to the piano again...this time trying it out using different fingers and different touches. He loves music!
Love those rosy cheeks after a long afternoon nap!
And yes, that's the remote in his hands....just like most men, he is a happy camper when he can have the remote! :-)
We had a great day, my little man and I! And he truly is a little man already...no longer a baby, but well on his way to being a big brother.

Isn't it great to see the world through the eyes of a toddler? For a grandma the joy is doubled and intertwined with memories of your own child and now his child!I'm so happy for you!
I'll bet my kids played with that cash register too! =)

I see Aidan is reading "Goodnight Moon"! That was one of Kristen's favorites. Brings back memories!

Hi Doris....I had been checking your blog for new pictures...these are so cute. Aiden is really growing up...that's a neat idea to be able to keep him one day a week....bonding time with you and a little break for his mom!

Caily is surely getting big, isn't she? Somehow we'll have to figure out a way to bring Canada and SC closer to each other and plop Texas right down in the middle! ha

Give our regards to your husband.
