Bright Nights at Stanley Park

One of our family's Christmas Traditions is to go to the Christmas Train at Stanley Park. The weather cooperated and last Wednesday we all packed up our warmest clothes and headed in to Vancouver for our train ride.
This was the third year for the boys so they could hardly wait to get onto the train!
For our Texans it was a cold evening indeed.
Kai was so excited that we were going to go on the train. Of course he didn't remember going two years ago when he was the same age as Halle but it sure sounded like fun just the same.
He loves saying 'cheese' for pictures.
...notice the red noses?
Here comes the train.....

All Aboard.......we got right behind the engine!

Kai could hardly believe his eyes...there was soooooo much to see!

Afterwards we walked through the light displays . Dave wanted a picture of all the kids in front of this one....but getting everyone looking at the camera was quite the challenge.

It was so fun watching the cousins enjoy everything together.

From the park we headed to White Spot for dinner, our one try at going out as a family.
I just watched and treasured all these things in my heart....so fun to see everyone having fun.

Holding our 'cousin twins'.....an armful of love!

Although the older cousins were all asleep by the time we got home, the little ones were still ready to party so I just had to take some pictures of the two of them in their sleepers.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from our house to yours! We have had a wonderful 2 weeks of celebrating with our family all in one place....so many good times, so many memories, and so much laughter in the walls. I'll try to catch up on blogging in the next few days but for this morning I just wanted to wish all of you that stop in a very blessed Christmas! Here we are with our two newest family members....Dave's holding Bria and I have Halle, our cousin twins. These two will have so much fun over the coming years. Our Texans are back home and Matt is back at work, so we just have Heather and her two munchkins still here with us. Later today we will have Jamie and Megan and her family over for Turkey Dinner....but right now all is quiet as I prepare. And I am thankful......we are so blessed!

The Best Grandpa Ever

Saturday mornings are a very special time in our house. Instead of sleeping in, the best Grandpa ever sets his alarm to get up early and pick up two very special little boys to take them to Tim Horton's for breakfast. It's tradition!! And the boys love it. Well, to be honest, so does Grandpa, or Pa as they call him. Everyone there, both the staff and other customers know them and look forward to seeing them there with their breakfast sandwiches and donuts of choice.
When Heather and Matt are down, Kai gets to join them! He is so excited to be one of the big boys and go along!
Then Dave really has his hands full!
Which is why the boys have already decided that next Saturday Caily and Lexi can come join them and Kai, but then their Dads will have to come too. And of course Aidan pointed out that they will need to sit at a bigger table. But won't that just be sooooo much fun.....especially for the Best Grandpa ever! Love you Sweetheart!
