BECK BULLETIN

We are on a journey, sojourners on this earth. Let us share with you the highs and lows of our lives. Heaven is a sweeter place now that we have two beautiful granddaughters waiting there for us.

What Do You See?

You may see an old wicker basket with something in a black garbage bag......at least at first anyway!

But what do I see?

A wicker laundry basket that my grandmother used....

I wonder how many pieces of laundry this basket held over the years?

A basket that Jamie slept in under the Christmas Tree for his first Christmas.....

I can still see him...

Sound asleep at my parent's home....

On Christmas Eve....

I somehow understood in a brand new way how Mary felt.....

A basket that has sat on the floor in our storage room for many, many years,

I just couldn't get rid of it somehow.....

But now it's gone.

I hope someone sees it and loves antiques....

And sees that it isn't just an old basket....

But a basket filled with love,

Loads and loads of love.

From you grandmother? Makes you wonder what it has all been used for. You could write a story about the places the wicker basket has lived in. Sometimes it's hard to know just where to draw the line between being sentimental and realistic on what we can keep. I do not look forward to cleaning out our house one day.

A treasury of memories! And sometimes just a picture rather than the actual item is enough to trigger the memories and the feelings that are associated. It is a big job to sort through "history" and decide what to keep and what to move on.
