We are on a journey, sojourners on this earth. Let us share with you the highs and lows of our lives. Heaven is a sweeter place now that we have two beautiful granddaughters waiting there for us.

Finishing Well

...Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
fixing our eyes on Jesus...
...so that you may not grow weary
and lose heart.
Hebrews 12: 1b-3
Between us we have been involved in full time ministry as our vocation for the last 78 years, all of it with the same organization! During this sabbatical time, this time of rest-taking, we have talked a lot about how to finish well. As we age, we have less energy, need to rest more, and can't have quite as many balls in the air without dropping them!
And so we are taking time to be still, time to reflect, time to ask the questions that need to be asked.

How do we have maximum impact in the years that God will give us,
within the parameters and limitations that our physical bodies place on us?

How do we run the race with endurance and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus?

How do we not grow weary and lose heart?

What is it that we want to give our limited energy too?

These are the thoughts that are running through my mind tonight as I sit here and write because at the end of my days, I want to hear, 'Well done, thou good and faithful servant.'

I'm in that place right now - where hubby has finished well and been called to his heavenly home - but what does the Lord still have for me to do as I now fly solo? Have been sick all week with this horrid sinus and chest congestion. That means I've been resting, drinking teas, resting, thinking, praying, crying, singing in my heart, reading, etc. Seems like the Lord is saying, "Just rest my child - trust in ME and I will show you the way that's best for you to go." It's OK to just wait upon the Lord and renew my strength. In His time there will be an answer. I don't want to rush ahead now and make decision on getting involved - just because my responsibilities have changed so much. Waiting, watching and resting in HIM.

My desire also, to hear Him say, Well done, thou good and faithful servant.
God bless you, Doris and Dave as you find His strength, as the wings of Eagles.
Karin, God bless you as you rest and "hear" God's voice as well.
Each step we take, God is certainly there guiding!

You are going through a different season of life. None of this is a surprise to God. He will show you how much, when, where and how to do what He calls you to do. For now, JUST REST, my dear!
