On Top of the World

 One of my last northern adventures was heading into the back country with Heather and Matt and their family looking for grouse to hunt.

 Matt promised the first person to spot a grouse the first roasted marshmallow...

 ...and although I got the first one, there were two little mouths that also wanted a taste! :-)

 Matt had the exact spot picked out where he would build the fire...

 and it really did feel and look like we were on the top of the world! 

The view was incredible.

 Kai and Halle were so excited to be able to go and play among the huge boulders...

 and I have to admit I was shocked at how fearless Kai was as he climbed higher and higher.

 Pretty soon the kids weren't the only ones climbing the big rocks...

 ...and they posed for us to take a picture while Heather and I both held our breath!
