A Beautiful Wedding - A Beautiful Bride

This was it!!!
This was the day we had all been waiting for....the wedding that my parents had traveled from Calgary to celebrate.
I only have one sister and she only has one daughter
...today was her wedding day.
All of her grandchildren along with the groom's nephew were in the bridal party...
announcing the coming of the beautiful bride!
Josh gets his first glimpse of his bride...
 ...my beautiful niece...
in a gorgeous dress that was made just for her!
This was the day that we had prayed for...
and together the two families prayed for this couple and this marriage.
As they said their vows and exchanged their rings I couldn't help but remember back 40 years to our own wedding....they had the same text, 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 about the true meaning of love.
The text is embroidered onto a picture in our bedroom
and daily serves to remind me about what love is not.
These two will learn all of that in the years to come.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Nickel are announced.
 It's official! They are married!!
The couple with her grandparents...I love the fact that my parents could see their youngest granddaughter get married.
And of course with camera in hand there were all sorts of combinations of pictures to take...
both my sister and I were married the same summer 40 years ago...
...what a privilege to stand with her as her daughter was wed.
 Their family continues to grow!
Jeremy and his lovely wife Chelsea, with little Ezra...
Steve and Jess, with Ethan, Joelle and Cassia.
 Three generations...
...my mother and her two daughters.
As we moved to the reception the celebration continued...
...and I think we all had smiles on our faces.
God's faithfulness was being celebrated in bringing these two special people together...
Mr and Mrs Josh and Ashley Nickel!

So fun to see these photos! The small connection I have through memories of attending the same youth group as your brother-in-law reminds me of how connected we all are. I enjoyed seeing the whole family photo! Wishing the beautiful young couple God's blessings on their marriage.
