Time to Breathe

There is ice on the pond these days as we walk around it, and I love to sit by the fireplace when I get home to warm up. That's one of the things that we love about our new place...gas fireplaces that we enjoy and warm up by!! This morning as I warmed up, I was reading on a friend's blog on the topic of having margin and I had to stop and think. Do I plan for margin in my life? Do I take time to breathe?

I must admit that I haven't always done a very good job of that. In fact, there were years that had no margin at all. But as I have grown older I realize that I need margin, more and more of it. I get tired more easily, can't multitask as well, and forget things, places, names and even what I was going to do next. I'm sure that some of you can definitely identify right?(I'm sure I am not the only one)

So more than ever I need to ensure that there is margin in my life, time to breathe, to sit and be refreshed. I am trying to learn to listen better to my body these days after reading the book 'When Your Body Says No, The Cost of Hidden Stress' by Gabor Mate(more about that book next week). Right now the message I'm getting is that I need to be still, take time for deep breaths, long naps, visits with old friends and just give my body time to heal from the stress that I put it under. I'm taking time to breathe....how about you?

that is a beautiful photo of a very familiar place! I'm glad that you are taking the opportunity to rest and reflect on how the path may change a bit ... but knowing the One who charts our path is always there.
