Texas Bluebonnets

For years when we were in Texas in the early or late spring,

we would hear, 'too bad you missed the Bluebonnets',

almost as if it was a season by itself.

 

But this year we didn't miss it!

After the first few days of rain,

the medians along the highways exploded in purple.

 The Bluebonnets were in bloom!

 This state flower of Texas was like a carpet...

 ...miles and miles of color.

 I had to pull over and put on my hazard lights...

 and capture this Texas phenomenon

 Proof that we didn't miss it this year!
